Gig Guide 2026
Strider are a 3 piece Blues/Rock band playing Classic Rock and Blues covers, as well as original material.
The band was formed in 1989 by Mark Reader, who at the time, was working as a Musical Director for BBC Television. The idea of the band, came about whilst working on a childrens TV series called Bitsa. Mark was recording a cover version of Crosstown Traffic by Jimmy Hendrix, when a sound engineer commented that he loved the song very much, but was disappointed that there aren't any bands around that still play these amazing Rock Classics, there was the seed.
When returning to Liverpool, from Television Centre, Mark formed the band and did the first Gig to a packed out pub called ‘Smithies' in Warrington. Very quickly, the band became very busy, playing Biker’s Rally's and pubs all over the country, and the rest, so they say, is history!
36 years later, the band is still going strong, and after many people have come and gone, the main guy’s are still here, doing what they do best.
